In NM, due to our heat and drought and now SATURATED ground, growing anything has pluses and minuses.CAROL HOPPER -- A PAINTER'S JOURNALhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11201355529127200387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2947114553206980980.post-47902872282185278542013-09-17T07:26:39.755-06:002013-09-17T07:26:39.755-06:00There are SO many things involved in the challenge...There are SO many things involved in the challenge...FB, DPW, Leslie's post, and our own blog. I don't know what day it is. Yesterday I jokingly told my husband it could have been dark for 36 hours straight and I would never have known. I didn't look outside; didn't go outside; and if the phone rang, I let "answering" pick it up. So I am off a day; maybe permanently? I know this much: I am one day older and a better painter due to the daily painting!

CAROL HOPPER -- A PAINTER'S JOURNALhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11201355529127200387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2947114553206980980.post-77554121274738861282013-09-17T05:19:43.512-06:002013-09-17T05:19:43.512-06:00I love trumplet vines (their flowers, that is). It is in my case and also I am using water soluble oils, which at first really threw me for a loop, but I found walnut oil and now I love painting with them! I haven't done oils in years because of allergies, but now I am having a ball! Watercolors and acrylic and even egg tempera have been my mainstays and each one is used so differently than oils. This challenge has been a great discipline, and I am enjoying looking at everyone's work. I really do like yours.Your Countyard Gate with Trumpet Vine is indeed a little gem!
