What fun!
This painting took days to complete as I added elements, fused those into the hot wax with a very hot heat gun, added more elements, fused, pressed a stencil into the hot wax for texture, fused, added flecks of gold, fused, and on and on it goes to the end. Last to be done was adding the ribbon and the 3-D Victorian elements.
This painting is done on a birch cradled panel, ready to hang and needs no frame.
Carol,
ReplyDeleteI really love these encaustics that you are doing. they have a 'certain something' about them. They are captivating and have a lot in them to keep the eye moving and entertained.
I am moving very far away from the "must do's" regarding my art. I must be free from expectation and "have to's". Enough with the angst to succeed, have x number of "friends", "followers" and sales. That "stuff" is unraveling. I am blessed.
ReplyDeleteCarol I love the texture in this. Such a warm, feminine feel. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flow for the viewers eyes.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct about the MUST DO's - go for the WANT TO's!
Your encaustic pieces are wonderful Carol. Enjoyed reading the information about it too. Thank you for sharing it! Love the wine and cheese painting too...my favorite snack!
ReplyDeletewow--I love this...I hope you will do more encaustics. I can see your strong sense of design here..I bet this was so fun to do. More! More!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful.
