Abandoned Arbor
Little Gem
8x6 oil on mounted canvas |
Oh, the neglect I found here...I wonder what the story is behind letting this go. But I can't ask because I have been like Wee Willie Winkle running through neighborhood, peeping over walls, through gate slats, and fallen fence rails. I keep my bike by my side for a handy get away.
Truly this setting was perfect for a painting. It reminds me of a book I loved in my childhood about a secret garden. Don't you agree this is mysterious?

Very mysterious. Makes me want to know the story of what happened, but then all the stories in my head would disappear.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to know the rest of the story, but the painting is fresh and the colors very nice.
ReplyDeleteKeep you stories...but share them with your own posts. I love reading what others have to say.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors and I enjoyed reading about you feeling like Wee Willie Winkie - know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteYes, I imagine you are a bit incognito with that camera of yours...especially at the open air markets. We want to capture life as it truly is.
DeleteEnchanting is the operative word here! I hope people don't think you are casing the neighborhood. Lol. I've got to retire in New Mexico. It is beautiful, even neighborhoods! I was there twice. I always return home enchanted.
ReplyDeleteI am careful....keeping more distance than my story blog indicates. There is so much to paint that is hidden from the average observer, yet sometimes I don't know what to paint or what I want to paint. Does that happen to you?
