Framed with black frame outside measurement 11x13", charming boat painting of two dinghies at rest in a harbor.

I continue to be on a roll with water, boats, harbors, and seascapes.  My heart is on the coast where I will soon spend two weeks plein air painting in Andrew Wyeth country in Maine.  I want to smell the salt water, to study boats more in depth, to understand coastal industries and to eat fresh fish daily.

  1. That will be lovely. Your painting is peaceful. I used to love to take my father's row boat out onto a bay on Lake Ontario when we lived there. There is something so relaxing about water.

  2. You lived on a lake? Wonderful! The little cottage I have rented has just such a boat as you had; I will use it frequently even when tied up...just for the rocking while I read a book. Thanks Lisa.

  4. Rest is the title but so much to see in your painting, the colors, motion, reflections. Quite nice and soon you will be painting more where the light is lovely. Watch out for those green head flies. We moved to coastal road island as our hearts are at the shore. Our feet loving to did up clams and to be able to see the water when we wake.

    1. How fortunate you are to live on the coast. I understand well that your heart is on the shore. Thank you for sharing. I wonder what type of bug repellant will keep away the green hear flies. Do you know?

  5. Any will work. the season is usually the first week of June but the weather has been cool. If you are near coastal breezes you should be fine. I am laughing at what auto correct did to my post above. Carol, every time I post a comment I get an email that states my message was undeliverable to your email but it is certainly showing up on the posts. Enjoy your trip!

    1. Counting down the days to France but living in fear over no sleep on the overnight flights! Going to Maine in August will be easy. I smashed all my painting trips into a six week period with all the remaining time in the desert. Oh boy...not smart.
