Flower Shop I

"FLOWER SHOP I"

oil on canvas covered board, 5x7, frame has a mahogany finish.

I love painting series, and I love painting flowers.  In the past my flowers were very often close up individual ones.  I still have a few of those available on my website at www.carolhopper.com.

For several months I have been painting smaller, more affordable works of art and transitioning to more fields of flowers or in this case, flower markets.  While in Norway recently, I fell in love with the ubiquitous flower stalls and shops.
This painting is framed and ready to hang.

SOUTHERN HOME

SOUTHERN HOME, unframed, 9x12, oil on museum quality panel.  $175

This is my third and last southern garden painting for the series.    I struggled with this painting because my photo had a entire bank of azalea bushes that blocked toward the home.  That required my "replanting" of the flowers.  I hope the painting works now!

Magnolia Gardens

Magnolia Gardens

It is wonderful to be painting flowers and gardens again since I was faithful during the thirty day challenge to paint only New Mexico.  But I travel whenever I can for the purposes of enjoyment and my art.   Spring at Magnolia Gardens finds azaleas everywhere.  Being there to walk the gardens, sketch the scene and the colors and smell the fragrances is truly wonderful.  This is a lovely little painting, suitable for framing or for displaying on a tabletop easel.
