Downtown Natchez, MS is a fun place to shop, dine, have coffee and visit with the locals.  You can find unique merchandise....and this very quaint restaurant hidden (hardly since it is painted bright red) in a deep alley.  This looks so European to me.

I have a cupboard with glass doors JUST FOR SHOW.  Though everything in here can be used, nothing is.  I just love it the way it is!   I painted this nearly two months ago, as well as "Color in the Cupboard".  It is time to tell you about it!

Don't you love the color transparency and reflections of the red glasses?

POPPY STRONG, Day 13 of Thirty Paintings in Thirty Day Challenge SOLD

POPPY STRONG
18x24, oil on canvas, gold leaf frame
SOLD
POPPY STRONG

"Poppy Strong", 18x24, oil on canvas, in a gold leaf frame.  Bright, rich, cheerful with strong reds.  Every home and office decor should include the color red.  This painting is full of hope and happiness.  It is also a painting done earlier as I got behind a whole day in the thirty day challenge.

SO….I like the painting a lot, but I struggled mightily.  I needed to invent so much and I wasn't feeling the least bit secure.  See the photo references below that I used.  The photos were taken in the patio market in Old Town, Albuquerque, NM.

So
I planned no decorating at home

I just had to

Here are my first steps
Need more red and
tons of fresh greenery

Below is a link to the most uplifting

Acequia en otono SOLD

Acequia en otono
Little Gem
6x6 oil on canvas mounted
Acequia en Otono  SOLD
    "irrigation ditch in autumn"

The colors along this ditch sing.  They are vivid, lively and joyful.  The ditch was surging with water and will continue to have water in it only until November 1st.  Then I guess it's time for the fields and streams to rest for four months of winter.

I don't ride my bike along here as much as I like to walk.  This trail leads to the Open Space Center which has viewing platforms to watch the wintering birds without interrupting their life.  Just a few geese have arrived; no big birds yet.
